IREN is one of the main multi-service operators in Italy, active in the energy, environment, integrated water cycle and technological services sectors. With a view to continuous innovation and digitisation of processes, UTwin has supported the group in the experimentation of new solutions for 3D surveying and digital twin creation of ground plants.
Scope of Work
Analysing, comparing and field-testing different mobile applications for 3D surveying, with the aim of identifying the most effective solution that could be integrated into IREN processes.
The project involved three active construction sites, with surveys conducted on ground-based technological installations.
In-depth technical evaluation of mobile 3D surveying technologies Optimisation of survey time and costs through agile solutions Production of digital models that can be integrated into CAD/BIM environments Standardisation of a workflow for future projects
Reduced survey time thanks to agile and precise mobile tools Improved data quality for design, maintenance and documentation Smooth integration into existing CAD/BIM processes Scalability to other construction sites and infrastructure types Optimisation of the technical management of underground utilities
